The Health Ministry has announced new decisions for covid-19

The decisions are as follows:
The Ministry of Health has announced the decisions taken by the Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases in line with the Infectious Diseases Law 45/2018.
DECISIONS ON ENTRY TO NORTH CYPRUS
1. Individuals will be able to enter the country without the requirement of a Covid-19 test, regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not, until further notice by the committee.
DECISIONS AT BORDER CROSSINGS
2. Individuals will continue to cross at border crossings without the need for a Covid-19 test.
MASK RULES
1. It is mandatory to use masks in closed areas and on public transportation.
2. Individuals should continue to practice social distancing rules and abide by hygiene rules in open and closed areas.
3. Individuals with upper respiratory complaints should wear masks in all areas (open or closed).
4. Indoor areas should be ventilated frequently (classes, restaurants, gyms, etc.).
RULES ON TESTS
5. The State Laboratory Committe has advised that the Covid-19 tests (PCR / antigen tests) used in North Cyprus must be CE-IVD certified.
6. Staff at nursing homes and the Central State Prison must carry out Covid-19 (PCR / antigen test) once a week.
7. Individuals visiting nursing homes and the Central State Prison must submit a negative Covid-19 PCR test weekly. Individuals showing symptoms of the virus should not visit the above-mentioned places even if their Covid 19 test is negative.
8. Those showing Covid-19 symptoms should wear a mask and have an antigen test carried out. In the case that the antigen test is positive then a PCR test must be carried out. Those who have a Covid -19 negative result but experience serious symptoms will be able to carry out a Covid-19 PCR test upon the request of a doctor.
DECİSİONS ON CLOSE CONTACT CASES
9. Those who have been in close contact with someone with the Covid- 19 virus must monitor for Covid-19 symptoms while continuing their daily lives but must wear a mask at all times. In the case they have no symptoms, these individuals should carry out an antigen (rapid test) on the 5th day.
However, if they show symptoms before the specified time then an antigen test should be carried out earlier. If the antigen result is positive then a PCR test must be carried out.
DECISIONS ON POSİTİVE COVID-19 CASES
-The isolation period begins as soon as a message is received stating that the PCR result is positive (o day).
-The result of a second test carried out at another test centre, will not be valid.
-The isolation period is 7 days. Individuals will be able to continue their daily lives without the need for a test.
-If an individual has tested positive for Covid-19 and is suffering symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pains and symptoms such as (fever, cough, fatigue, headache, etc) can seek help by calling 0533 842 8358 or the health hotline number 1102.
Home isolation: Individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19 will only be allowed to isolate themselves at home if they have a private room and have no contact with other members of the household. Bathrooms and WCs must be disinfected with (1% bleach watered) or (a small cup of bleach to 10 litres of water) after every use if they are shared with an individual who has tested positive.
It is forbidden for Covid-19-positive individuals in home isolation to leave their home during the isolation period (only in case of emergency and the notification of the quarantine centre). Visitors are also forbidden during the isolation period.
The Health Ministry will not issue any kind of official document to any positive individuals who do not register with the Pandemic Information System.
DECISIONS ON VACCINATIONS
Vaccination recommendations for people 18 and over
-4th dose of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine is recommended for adults aged 50 years and over who are moderately or mildly immunocompromised.
-5th dose of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine is recommended for those aged 18 years and over who are moderately or severely immunocompromised.
-It is recommended that individuals who have had Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) have a 2nd booster of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
3rd dose of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine is recommended for those aged 50 years and over or 18 years and over who are moderately or severely immunocompromised.
-It is recommended that individuals vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine receive the 3rd dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine as a booster.
-4th dose of Pfizer-BioNTech booster vaccine is recommended for those aged 50 years and over or 18 years and over who are moderately or severely immunocompromised.
-Those vaccinated with 3 doses of Sinovac or 2 doses of Sinovac + 1 dose of Pfizer-BioNTech and are 50 years and over or are 18 years and over and are moderately or severely immunocompromised are advised to have a 4th dose of Pfizer-BioNTech booster vaccine.
