Ministry of Finance warning on scam emails

The North Cyprus Ministry of Finance has issued a public warning to be cautious of false notifications via emails under the name of the Income and Tax Office. “Ignore false emails from the Income and Tax Office!” In a statement by the Finance Ministry, it has been detected that a group of hackers from abroad are demanding payments from taxpayers via fake emails (electronic posts) under the name of the Income and Tax office in North Cyprus.

The public has been warned not to click on the link sent via the electronic post.

It warned that personal information of the public can be passed on to ill-intentioned fraudsters and will result in physical and emotional victimization.

Therefore the public has been warned to ignore such fraud attempts in order not to be victimized.
