Met office warns of heavy rain!

The Meteorology Department announced that heavy rain is expected in some areas, especially in the Karpaz region starting from 6 pm today. The Meteorology Department warned that heavy showers or thundery showers are expected to be effective in local areas as of 6pm today to 6 pm tomorrow with rain between 21-50 kilograms per square meter. Very heavy rain is predicted for Karpaz with rain between 51-75 kilograms per square meter. The Meteorology Department reports that the region will be under the influence of a low-pressure system with a cool and humid air mass on Tuesday December 20th. Temperatures will be 2 to 3 degrees above seasonal norms, and winds will be northerly and easterly moderate becoming stronger at times. It is expected to be partly cloudy with thundery showers today. Temperatures will generally be around 17-20 ºC inland and on the coast. Temperatures in the capital Lefkoşa will be around 20ºC.
