Legal proceedings have been taken against 35 people who caused fires

The General Directorate of Police announced that 17 fires broke out in the country last week with total damage of around 221 thousand 350 TL.
The distribution of fires by region is as follows: “Lefkoşa 4, İskele 4, Geçitkale 2, Gazimağusa 2, Girne 2, Güzelyurt 2, Gemikonağı 1” The possible causes of the fires are reported as "Lit cigarette butts thrown out, a shortcut circuit in electrical parts of vehicles, a fire set on dry grass as a result of condensation of sun rays through broken glass pieces, fire following traffic accidents, sparks from electrical transformers setting fire to dry grass, clear out fires getting out of control.
Other fires have been caused by overheating of fan stoves that were accidentally operated, fires created by an unknown person or people, fires from gas leaks of industrial-type stoves, lit cigarette butts causing bales to burn, and forgotten overheated and igniting of oil in a pan.
Legal proceedings have been taken against 35 people, who were found to be responsible for causing a fire between January 1st and August 21st.
