Mourners of 25-year-old Zue Joel Kollie known in the football sector of North Cyprus were saddened to hear of his death. Police report that Kollie who suddenly became ill at his residence later died following all efforts at the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa. An investigation into the incident continues.
Meanwhile, the Liberian Student’s Association in Northern Cyprus issued a message of condolence: “Today, one of our students succumbed to the pains of death. One of the dedicated and diligent students that left Liberia to complete their studies was Joel Kollie, alias Zue. He led the football squad at Rauf Denktas University as its captain. Zue was respectful and humbled. He served as the football team's deputy captain for the Liberian Students Association in Northern Cyprus. The Liberian community in Northern Cyprus is extremely grieved for our brother's passing. Our sympathies go out to his family. May his soul rest in peace!”
