“Historical Taksim Pitch in the buffer zone back in use after 8 years”

The construction work at the historical Taksim pitch, located on the Green Line in the capital Lefkoşa which was given back to the Çetinkaya Turkish Sports Club (TSK) Football Team, has been completed. The work at the Taksim pitch, which is located on the Green Line, known as the buffer zone under the control of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force, was destroyed in 2014 due to rally races but has regained its use with the efforts of the Çetinkaya Turkish Sports Club. The turf was laid, with a funding project of Türkiye, and was completed with the lines drawn on the pitch. The goalposts were erected and the nets were attached making the pitch ready for football matches. The Çetinkaya TSK Football Team is planning to return to the historical Taksim pitch with an enthusiastic ceremony and participation of its fans after 8 years.
