Arıklı “Ercan Airport is expected to open November 15th”

Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı referred to the huge investment made towards the newly built Ercan Airport adding that they were waiting for the arrival of equipment to open the new Ercan Airport. Stating that the state earns an average of 25-30 million TL per month from Ercan, Arıklı said, “It is a good income and has a good investment. We invested in a very profitable job,” Arıklı said. Erhan Arıklı stated that the new airport is expected to be opened on November 15th, the anniversary of the foundation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) but they will wait for the equipment to be brought to the country because they want to make a full-fledged opening. Answering questions, Arıklı also said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would not be able to attend the November 15 ceremony, as he has other programs to attend. An introductory cocktail and presentation took place for the members of the press at the New Ercan Airport. Erhan Arıklı and company officials answered journalists’ questions.
