Additional regulations implemented for Electric Scooters

The 1974 Motor Vehicle and Traffic (Amendment) Regulation of “Electric Scooter” has been amended. The speed limit has been increased from 25km/h to 30 km/h.

In addition to the change of the speed limit of “Electric Scooter”, the rules to be followed were also updated;

The rule has been changed from “Other than a backpack, no other items are allowed to be carried” to “Other than a backpack, no other items exceeding 10 kilograms are allowed to be carried”.

A new clause has been added to the regulation for the rental of Electric Scooters. In the new article, it was noted that the criteria to be applied to those who will rent electric scooters and the rules to be followed, the rental license, and fees will be determined by the Registration Office.

The definition of Motor Vehicles and Traffic Regulation and determination of the rules for the use on roads was applied with the regulation last week,

Furthermore, additional regulations were made regarding Electric Scooters, which have been legalized to be used on the roads in North Cyprus. The additional regulations were published in the Official Gazette on 31st October.
